Columbus vs. Baltimore

We've just returned from a short trip to Columbus, OH. Kyle recently received two job offers, one in Columbus, OH, and the other in Baltimore, MD. It's funny how things come along so quickly. After we returned from our honeymoon, Kyle had 2 interviews in a week, and the next week, he got both offers on the same day! We had a little celebration, but after that, the headache begins. When you have choices, you need to make decisions. But I guess, in this case, it's a good thing huh?!

The company in Columbus was quick to set up a trip for the two of us to visit the city. They put us up in the fancy Hilton at Easton Town Center, a place similar to the Country Club Plaza here in KC. They also set us up with a realtor who brought us around Columbus for two days, visiting the different residential communities in the area.

Well, I have to say, there is not much of a difference between KC and Columbus -- the suburbs are like Brookside, Overland Park and Olathe, with great school districts (not that we care much about it now). Kyle likes the New Albany area, which is a planned community similar to Seaside, FL or the idyllic suburb of CT in the movie "The Stepford Wives"!

Just like KC, Columbus has no mountains or sea to offer, but it has nice neighborhoods with quaint little downtowns and plenty of retail shops, restaurants and bars. If I can live happily in KC for almost 10 years now, we should be able to transition to another midwestern city pretty easily, don't you think?! :)

But before we make our decision, we'll have to see what Baltimore can offer us...
